About Us

jlogankerr1913-1990

In 1930, J. Logan Kerr Limited was founded by the late James Logan Kerr II in Timmins, Ontario.

In the early years, Kerr did a lot of local and long-distance trucking, hauling such things as gravel, coal, and Robin Hood flour.

From the 1950s to the early 1990s, Kerr was a moving agent for North American Van Lines and Atlas Van Lines and did a lot of local and long-distance moving from coast to coast across Canada.

In 1972, Kerr Crane Service became a division of J. Logan Kerr Limited and was founded by James Logan Kerr III. Since its inception, the crane division has greatly expanded and has built itself a great reputation and has become a leader in the construction industry.

In 2015, President James Logan Kerr III formed a partnership with his son James Logan Kerr IV, who took on the role of Vice President. The father and son team worked great together until James’ untimely passing in December 2022.

At present, the company is solely owned and operated by J. Logan Kerr IV.
